  • new blog...

so john and i have decided to start a family blog where we both can post.  we decided to use blogger because you can leave comments without having to set up an account.  we thought our families would be more inclined to leave comments if they didn't have to sign up for anything.  check it out at www.jjdavis31.blogspot.com.  i probably won't use this one, but will keep it live for a while so you can just click the link.  i still want to keep in touch with my xanga friends, i won't forget about you! :)

  • cubs and cancellations

yesterday we took a chartered bus to chicago to watch the cubs game with matt and alicia and matt's coworkers.  we were the only odd balls that did not have anything to do with heritage middle school but we still had fun exploring the windy city and watching the game.  it was sooo cold and i even took my winter coat and gloves!  thanks for the invite matt and alicia.

CSC_0065 we took this before we left greyson with my mom and dad all day!  aren't we a cute family in our cub attire?!? ;)

DSC_0060 i had to show off this one too...:)

today was mother's day.  it was kind of a let down because john was sick so we didn't go to church and we had to cancel the cookout that was supposed to be at our house.  i felt awful for cancelling because people had made food already, but he was miserable and didn't feel like having a housefull of people.  so it would be more appropriate to call my mother's day taking care of john day.  we're going to have the cookout someother time, so i'll just pretend mother's day hasn't even came yet.  maybe that day will be a little more fun and exciting!

  • family and friends

the weeks go by so fast and the weekends are even faster.  we've been up to a lot the past few weekends.  this weekend was especially busy.  friday my aunt and cousin arrived from north carolina.  they came for a quick trip to share that my aunt has cancer.  she wanted to tell my grandma in person, and the doctors approved her visit between tests and treatments.  it's going to be a long battle for her, so please keep her in your prayers.  despite her reason for being here, we enjoyed seeing them and spending time with them.

friday afternoon tara and jacob came to visit.  they weren't able to stay too long, but we'll take anything we can get.  jacob was adorable!  he liked hugging and kissing greyson.

we also hung out with the maldonado's on friday night.  we played the wii and cooked out.  lij was a hoot!  saturday we enjoyed  a homemade italian meal by jenn (which was fabulous) and played games with the fryes, jamie, victoria, and the hahns. needless to say we had fun, but we stayed way too late considering we had to get up to go to indy the next day! :)

sunday we traveled to indy to help my brother move.  greyson did so well in the car, sleeping most of the time.  it was nice to see my "little" brother.  he's all grown up now, graduated from college, and started his first real job.  yay trent!! uncle trent watched greyson while we went to get everyone food.  greyson spit up all over his shirt, the couch, and the floor.  i guess he just wanted uncle trent to know that he loved him.  :)  uncle toby didn't come to indy to help trent move, and greyson wasn't too happy.  he was hoping to see him too.  i guess he'll just have to wait until he comes to visit us.

here are a few pics from the past week.

  • this past week john and my dad put up our basketball hoop.  john has been waiting for this moment since thanskgiving when we purchased it.  before the cement dried we put our hands in it and tried to put greyson's feet in there, but we didn't want to push too hard on his fragile self so you can barely see them.  it's still cute though if you look really close. :) they are in the middle above my hands.

greyson is doing much better during bath time and hasn't been screeming his head off, so i told john to get the camera.  of course by the time he got back, he was starting to cry.  isn't this the saddest face you've ever seen?

i was going to post some more pics, but it's not letting me so i guess i'll try later.  :)  have a good week everyone!

  • my chunky monkey

greyson had a doctor's appointment today.  we found out that he now weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces.  he's in the 100th percentile for weight.  i knew he was big, but i had no idea he was that big! God sure has a sense of humor.  i've always been afraid of little babies...i guess God was just helping me out by blessing me with a big one!  i love him so much and couldn't imagine life without him.

About Me

  • i love being in God's creation, children, going for walks, sunsets, family, starbucks coffee, any kind of ice cream (especially mint chocolate chip), watching movies, listening to music, soaking up the rays, being organized, hiking, volleyball, scrapbooking, taking pictures, attempting to be crafty, flip flops, blading, biking, swimming, camping, spending time with my friends, daisies, quotes, trying new things, road trips, star gazing, large amounts of water, monkeys, cuddling, shopping, snow skiing, boating, encouraging others, painting my toes, and my beetle bug.
